Buffet Crampon Prestige Basss clarinet to low C Mod. No.1193 Buffet Crampon introduced with the Prestige Bass clarinet and bassethorn a completely redesigned new kind of harmony instruments. In cooperation with the Swiss Instrument specialist Renë Hagmann under the leadership of René Lesieux was the concept and production of harmony instruments revolutionizing. The often fragile and unreliable mechanism was replaced with a very ergonomical, robust and efficiant one. The intonation was greatly improved. The reduced boresize improved the dynamic range.

Until the appearance of the new Buffet Prestige bass clarinet, where this instruments just a necessary burdon for orchestra players. Hard to master and problematic. The enormous development found many lovers and it is today an often seen side instrument which is enjoyed by many clarinet player. The Prestige to low C was introduced in the early 1990 and had a sharp tuned low register. At the turn of millennium the new Prestige came on the market with mayor improvements. The pitch was now very even over all registers and the mechanism even further developed. Since both models are named Prestige, the easiest way to distinguish them is by looking at the bell. The new model has a open tone hole past the last hole. It is a very flexible and universal instrument and very popular especially among orchestra players. The sound is primarily dark, focused and carrying but it offers a wide range of colors from elegant to aggressive.

The Prestige bass l is available in unstained, polished African Blackwood or Greenline. To reduce the risk of cracking, Lohff & Pfeiffer offer the tone hole crack prevention for all wooden instruments as an option.

This model comes with the left hand Eb/Ab as well as with 3 low D keys. Some older instruments were delivered without the key but it can be added separately.

Additional Key features
1. The Tenons are provided with a metal tenon-ring for protection.
2. Low C/F Correction key.
3. The Bass has a full automatc register mechanism, which improves the high register in pitch and response greatly.
4. There are many adjusting screws to facilitate the key coordination for G#, correspondence between lower and upper joint, the adjustment for the righthand keys as well as the low C/F correction.
5. In addition to that, does the Prestige also have venting adjustment screws for the left and righthand keys. A great help if you know how to use them. .
